Jack Spencer is shocked to find that Laena Hunt is living with his mother. He is more shocked at his body’s instant reaction to her. Jack has not felt this way about a woman since his wife died many years ago. He and his siblings are suspicious of Laena and the reason she is living with his mother. As Jack gets to know her, Laena is nothing like he expects. The passion that erupts between the two is unstoppable. The more Jack and Laena are together the more they need each other.

Laena Hunt is slowly recovering from the end of her marriage and the devastating divorce that followed. She certainly never expected to meet anyone like Jack Spencer. After the cruelty of her ex-husband, Laena is reluctant to let any man too close. Jack breaks through all of her barriers. Laena has never felt this way for any man. When they are unable to deny their attraction, need for each other takes over. Laenea realizes she has fallen in love with Jack.

Mlyn Hurn’s Christmas in Virginia is a heartwarming story of two people finding love again. Both Jack and Laena have suffered losses. The author displays all the emotions that Jack and Laena go through to find love again, from intrusive relatives and exes that will not leave them alone, to the doubt that plagues their minds. This was a wonderful story that I could not put down.
