Stephen Lemont is trying to rebuild his career after an actress’s unfound accusations almost ended it. He is not looking to start any long-term relationships. Stephen has returned to New York to attend his best friend, Genera’s wedding. He had met Jennifer before but had not felt anything more than a passing attraction to her, but the way she is coming on to him is catching his attention. Stephen and Jennifer agree to spend the night together without any expectations of seeing each other again. Once he returns to Chicago, Stephen is unable to get Jennifer off his mind and decides to see her again. When the trouble from Stephen’s past returns and involves Jennifer, Stephen realizes how much he loves and wants to be with Jennifer.

Jennifer Wartner has worked long and hard to become the managing editor of the newspaper where she works. She is not looking for a relationship. Having met Stephen several times before she is amazed at the lust she feels for him at the wedding they are both attending. Deciding to offer him some harmless sex, Jennifer is excited when he takes her up on her offer. Unable to forget about him, Jennifer is happy when he calls her in Chicago. Finding out that he has not been totally upfront, burns her a little. A woman from his past is suing Stephen and has dragged Jennifer into the mix. Jennifer has fallen in love with Stephen and will do whatever it takes to help him.

Mixed Media is an intense story. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ms. DeQuaya has created very concentrated characters that will not be forgotten easily. Stephen and Jennifer are two people with baggage that threatens to destroy the shaky relationship they are building. Ms. DeQuaya’s writing style is unwavering and will have you wanting more.
