Taming Alex

Alex had waited a long time to have Ethan and she was not going to let anything stop her from finally being with him. A nice uncomplicated affair with him would get rid of the longing she had for him. Alex knew from past experience that very few relationships were successful. Her mother was about to enter her seventh marriage. Ethan was adamant that they are in a relationship and he was not going to settle for anything else. Everything seems to be going so well, why would Ethan want to muddy the waters by insisting that they be in a committed relationship.

Ethan knows he will no longer be able to resist Alex. She may be his kid sister’s best friend, but she has been throwing signals his way. Ethan also knows he has been throwing signals her way. The more Alex wants to dismiss that they have something special, the more determined he becomes to show her that what they have can last. Ethan gives her an ultimatum – they will either be together or they will be apart, it is her choice. Alex pulls away but Ethan is positive that she loves him.

Taming Alex is a heartwarming story of two people having to let go of the emotional baggage of the past. Alex and Ethan struggle to have a relationship while keeping the past from influencing their newfound love. I liked how Ms. Havlir showed the inner turmoil that each character had to go through. The author’s writing style is witty and moving.
