The Nutcracker Prince

Clara was not looking forward to Christmas, and she certainly did not want to listen to the sexual conquests of her friend Gabby and Gabby’s sister. While looking for a unique gift for her boss, Clare goes into an antique store. She is drawn to a nutcracker and starts to purchase it, when the salesman gives it to her. While Clara is riding in an elevator, the cables break and the car is sent plunging downward. Clara awakens to a stranger making love to her. The stranger then takes Clara to a magical world.

Dimitri has been waiting 250 years for the right woman to acquire the nutcracker. When Clara touches the nutcracker, he knows the perfect woman has finally come for him. An enemy tries to separate Dimitri and Clara, nearly killing Clara. Dimitri returns home where he believes Clara will be safe. This will also give him time to convince Clara of his love. If Dimitri is unable to convince her, he will not be released from the spell that has trapped him for centuries.

The Nutcracker Prince is a wonderful take on an established fairy tale. Clara’s disbelief of the things that Dimitri is telling her and that she is seeing is endearing. The love that grows between the two is amazing, but love at first sight usually is. Ms. Blackwood’s sense of humor and command of dialogue make this a charming holiday tale.
