‘Till Death Do Us Part
With the death of her mother, Jayme Barrett is free; she packs up her belongings and hits the road. Jayme finds herself in a small Nebraska town, and for the first time in a long time, she feels as if she’s come home. Everything seems so familiar to her, even some of the people she’s never met. Jayme knows she’s found the place she wants to call home, and finds a house that is just perfect for her. Oddly enough, no one else feels the same way she does about the house. From the realtor to the new friends she's made, everyone tries to talk her out of buying this house.
Strange things are starting to happen. She’s seeing things that aren’t there, she’s feeling connected to people she’s never met before and she has this foreboding sense of danger. Then there’s Jonah. Jonah is a man she has never laid eyes on before, and yet she somehow knows she loves him with all of heart; it's almost too strange, but true. Stranger yet is that Jonah’s feels the exact same way about her. As Jayme continues to have these visions, she’s learning that there’s truth to the rumors about her house. A woman and her daughter went missing one night and were never seen or heard from again. A man away on business came home to find his entire family slaughtered. Another woman with what seemed to be the perfect life completely vanished one day. What’s worse is that Jayme appears to be the reincarnation of each of these women even as Jonah seems to be the man that she loved in each of those lives. There’s danger all around them, and history seems doomed to repeat itself. Will Jayme and Jonah be torn apart once again, or will this lifetime be the one that allows them a long and happy life together?
‘Till Death Do Us Part is absolutely brilliant! Twists and turns don't begin to describe the plot devices of this book. There’s just no way you can figure this storyline out. All you can do is go with it until Ms. Thornton decides to give you the next piece of the puzzle. There’s a little something for everyone in this book. There’s fast-paced action, death and pandemonium, mystery and intrigue, and a love that transcends time. All Jayme wanted was to be free of the suffocating life she left behind. Now, she’s entangled in several murder mysteries that touch the lives of almost everyone she’s met. Who wouldn’t be freaked out at the thought of confronting not one, but three former lives? The strength and compassion attributed to Jayme is inspiring and the love between her and Jonah is remarkable. Just when you think there couldn’t possibly be any more to this story, the plot punches just keep on coming. ‘Till Death Do Us Part is not a light read, as the story is very involved and there are layers aplenty. Readers could easily become lost or confused in the story if attention isn’t paid to detail. This isn’t terribly likely to happen, though, as the author will have readers completely captivated with this story. Kudos to Sue Thornton for a mesmerizing story that just doesn’t stop.
