Celtic Fire

As the rightful queen of her people, Rhiannon cannot help but feel the pressure of the enormity of her situation. Knowing that she must do all that she can do help protect her people from Roman invasion, she allows Edmyg, her dead husband’s brother, to claim her as his intended, giving him the rule over the Celt warriors. Unable to stay behind with the women and children when the band rides to fight the Romans, Rhiannon secretly rides behind to protect her younger brother Owein. This action alone will change her life forever.

Commander Lucius Aquila has been visited by what appears to be his brother’s ghost the last couple of months; when he finally gets the message that his brother has been killed in a hunting accident, he cannot help but accept the vision that stalks him night and day. He immediately embarks on a journey to Britannia, intending to visit the house of his brother to find out what has happened. The battle he faces will leave him the victor, and he’ll soon find that his captive is a beautiful, spirited woman.

Rhiannon isn’t at all thrilled about the aspect of being her enemy's slave, but the choice has been taken from her. When she is face to face with this Roman commander, she cannot help the feelings of attraction that begin to stir within her. Lucius, however, has no problem showing his desire for her, and it will not be long before he discovers that the ghost of his brother disappears only when Rhiannon is near. What secrets does she hold and how far will he have to go to find out?

Celtic Fire takes us back to a time when the Celts were ruled by the mysterious ways of the Druids. Joy Nash does an excellent job of drawing her readers into this Celtic time period. The added benefit of Lucius being haunted by his brother gave this story a gripping intensity. This author’s creativity is remarkable and shows abundantly in this tale.

The immediate sparks flying between Lucius and Rhiannon are enchanting. These two characters are both strong and have uncompromising beliefs of their worlds, and yet they find that love has no boundaries. The choices that Rhiannon will eventually have to make will leave readers eagerly awaiting the next page, but Ms. Nash will not disappoint you. Love, honor and loyalty are what you will find in Celtic Fire.
