When We Meet Again

One magical night in Venice, two strangers meet for a rendezvous. A lady trying to escape who she is, and a prince bound for his throne - both will be impacted by this event, but neither will expect what their futures hold.

Four years later…Lady Pamela Effington has traveled throughout Europe with her aunt Lady Smythe-Wyndom and her cousin Lady Overton, after leaving London due to a scandal. They receive a summons requiring them to return to their home town and take up permanent residence in order to claim an inheritance, and all three prepare to comply, albeit grudgingly. Who Lady Pamela finds residing in her new home will leave her bewildered.

Prince Alexei Pruzinsky has lost a lot these last four years, including part of his heart. He has recently lost his kingdom of Avalonia to Russia. So, Alexei decides that it is best to go into exile rather than to fight what will surely be an ugly, brutal battle with mass fatalities to his people. He escapes to London and rents a town home until he can claim his inheritance that was left in the Bank of England. Not long after his arrival, Lady Effington and her cohorts will come to claim their home. What happens next will be a whirlwind of events that will sweep both Pamela and Alexei off their feet, and yet Alexei cannot help feeling as if he has met Pamela before. Will he discover who she truly is?

When We Meet Again is another winner by author Victoria Alexander! Fans of Regency romance will love the duo of Pamela and Alexei. Pamela is truly a wonderful, heartfelt character, and she is very easy to relate to. Her seduction of Alexei in the beginning of the story shows her true character; she knows what she wants and will do anything to get it. Alexei is also a hero worth savoring. Although there are times when his stubbornness shows, his character never falters on who he is and where he comes from. His determination to find out how he knows Pamela fuels the passion and heat between these two.

Ms. Alexander does not stop with just these two main characters. She also gives us a host of secondary characters that add a bit of flair to this novel. Roman, Clarissa, Millicent, Valentina and Petrov also give readers several secondary storylines that will humor and entice readers. The ending of When We Meet Again is a delightful yet hilarious surprise that will have you applauding this author’s creativity. This is absolutely a great summer read to take along to the beach.
