In Her Sights
Caitlin Harris is not having a good day at all. In a bizarre turn of events, her sister Janet seems to have been kidnapped by her mysterious boyfriend named Jim. Even more bizarre than a kidnapping is the fact that this Jim person seems to want Caitlin dead. Caitlin is going to need all her wits and a bit of help from someone she can trust to get through this alive. The question is: whom can she turn to when it begins to appear that Caitlin herself is the guilty one?
Nathan Donaldson responds to the report of a bomb set to go off and finds - to his surprise - that the intended victim is Caitlin, a former police sniper. Although she is frightened and confused as to what is really going on, he sees her as genuine and finds himself drawn to do whatever he can to keep her safe. As evidence begins to unfold, pointing the finger of suspicion at Caitlin, Nathan must decide if she is truly innocent or if he only hopes that she is not guilty for strictly personal reasons…
This is one of several stories by author Jennifer Cloud which I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing; by no means will it be the last. Each of these was different in length and often in genre. No matter the genre, the story grabbed me and carried me along for the ride. This book was yet another of those wild rides. From page one with the bomb ticking (literally), I was swept into Caitlin’s world and could not move from page to page fast enough to find out what was really going on. Then sexy hero Nathan entered the picture and that was all it took. All thoughts of children and housework flew right out the window and a 239-pages-in-one-sitting reading event took precedence above all else! I have become a fan along the way of both Ms. Cloud’s writing style and her storytelling ability. I enjoyed this tale immensely and will be first in line to read the next offering from this talented author!
