Uninvited
William is a vampire searching for his soul mate. Before she was tried and hanged as a witch, his lover Elizabeth told him he is destined to find the one he searches for. After her death, Will clings to her last words and searches for 300 years, hoping that he will find her again in another time and place. Just as he is having doubts and thinking about ending his immortal existence, he meets Lanie when he walks into a bookstore on an errand for a friend. Why would Lanie know things that only he and Elizabeth would know? Is Lanie the reincarnation of Elizabeth, or someone who looks like Elizabeth? Is Lanie the soul mate Elizabeth has foretold?
Lanie Sullivan is an ordinary, friendly female who enjoys working in a bookstore. However, for the past five years, she has been having hotly erotic dreams about a man whom she has never met; what's more disturbing is that this man seems to awaken a part of her that she did not know even existed. When Will walks into the store to buy a book and leaves, she hopes to find him again to ask him about the dreams. Are the dreams hers, or is she re-living the life of another person who loves Will? She loves Will, but does Will love her for herself or because he sees her as Elizabeth?
Sydney Somers’ Uninvited is definitely a book all fans of vampire stories have to read and keep! Ms. Somers puts together a sexy vampire hero, a lovable heroine, interesting secondary characters, a jealous female vampire and a plot that keeps you guessing right up to the end of the story. I enjoyed the scenes between Will and Lanie; the attraction between them is undeniable and the air sizzles with anticipation whenever they are together. The connection that they share is unique and the love scenes are highly charged and sensual. This is one of the most enjoyable vampire stories I have read, and it kept me up most of the night. This book is well worth sacrificing sleep for and is definitely a keeper on my cyber shelf. I will be looking forward to more of Ms. Somers' books, especially if she decides to re-visit Will, Lanie and their friends in the future.
