Casey Anne is getting married today. After the usual ribbing by her widower brother Jackson, she heads into town to pick up her bridesmaids’ gifts, but on the way, tragedy strikes when a man wielding a gun attacks her. Luckily, a strange woman - one fleeing cross-country as she runs from her past - comes by and fights with the man, although she is shot in the process. The woman requires emergency surgery, and awakens in the hospital five days later as a trauma-induced amnesiac, with Jackson sitting beside her bed.

Jackson is suspicious of this woman who calls herself Kendall, but he can hardly be cruel to her after she saved his sister’s life. The situation is made all the more difficult when Casey brings Kendall home to stay with them after she is released from the hospital. When Jackson’s “girlfriend” shows her claws to Kendall upon meeting her, it becomes clear to Kendall that the woman is threatened by her presence. But then Kendall begins having flashbacks as her past comes back to torment and haunt her...

Beverly Jones pens a twisting, marvelously complex tale of heart-warming second chances in All Things Sacred, aptly capturing Kendall’s fear of her past and Jackson’s strong urge to protect her. These two main characters make the sparks fly, sending off thrumming and humming waves of passion as they become more aware of each other. Secondary characters stir and thicken this plot, and Ms. Jones masterfully and engagingly brings this tale along, hooking readers from page one. This is a delightfully poignant and warmly wonderful read, and I admire this author for being so in tune with the emotions and moods of her characters.
