Darkly Gothic, Everlasting Love by Mary Eason is a story of passion, torment, and the iron will of a love cheated by fate. Combining a strong reincarnation storyline with a bunch of blood-drinking, this work dwells staunchly on the secrets of the vampire, adding a fairy-tale-gone-bad flavor. The cast of supporting characters only enhance and flesh out this tale, giving it a life of its own. Mary Eason draws from a number of sources for her inspiration here, including even a few Biblical references, which were surprising to find in a vampire novel. Legend and lore mingle with loss and bloodlust to make Everlasting Love one of the most fascinating books I’ve read recently.
