Sue-Ellen Welfonder’s passionate portrayal of all things Scottish had me investigating my family tree to find some kind of connection with the wonderfully spirited people of Scotland. This author’s flowing, lyrical style, combined with her sensual and earthy characters, kept me wishing for a laird of my own. Juliana is a fiery and fierce lass, with a strong independent streak who does not take kindly to Robbie’s highhandedness. Ms. Welfonder captures their conflict beautifully – the amnesiac woman virtually alone in the world and the honor-bound man torn between his head and his heart. Secondary characters do not disappoint, from the powder-keg temper of Duncan to the scheming Euphemia; they’ll all enchant you. Sweet dreams of strapping Scottish rogues will be yours, dear readers, after reading Sue-Ellen Welfonder’s lush and lovely Only for a Knight.
