Suzanne Whitman has carved herself a niche as one of the top commercial photographers in the world. This career choice was made after years spent as a photojournalist in Bosnia, which left her heartbroken and glad to have escaped with her life. She is spending a couple of very stormy days in Hawaii on assignment when she runs into her ex-lover, reporter Peter Stone. Pete is the one that got away, the one who could have made her stay with just a word. But he chose to remain silent, and they parted ways.
