Roy Lee just wants to make some money, so he gets a bright idea about driving cattle to Dodge City. How he ends up in a trash-talking gunfight with the legends of western lore is totally beyond him. It all starts when his buddy Wayne’s daddy decides that they’re gonna run the strays and V-branded cattle to market and split the profits with the lady “rancher” Velvet. Along the trail, they meet a whole herd of interesting people, but will they make it back from Dodge City with their lives?

The Velvet Brand is a funny and down-home kind of book, pitting the loveable Roy Lee and his friend Wayne against the world - think Bonanza meets the Dukes of Hazard. These boys never claim to be the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree, but they’ll bumble and fumble their way into readers’ hearts all the same. Erv Bobo puts his own hilarious spin on the old story about how the West was won in The Velvet Brand, and in doing so, puts smiles on readers’ faces and gifts them with a good belly laugh.
