Crime Tells: Calista’s Men

Calista Burke can’t believe her luck. On the first day as a private investigator for Crime Tells, she gets a case that sounds like it will be very interesting and lots of work, the perfect challenge in her opinion. She also meets two sexy and magnetic men, twin brothers Benito and Dante Giancotti. The attraction between the three of them is instantaneous and explosive. Calista’s always fantasized about being with two men at the same time, but making love with the Giancotti brothers exceeds even her wildest desires. Her new feelings frighten her though and she knows the best way to forget about those feelings for a while is to get to work.

Calista’s case is a tough one. Jessica Winston has just died but somewhere out there is a baby, Jessica’s baby. Jessica’s mom wants to know what happened to the baby, and she wants to find out how drugs came to be in her daughter’s body. She doesn’t believe the death was accidental, and now Calista is on the case to find out the truth. Things become even more complicated when Dante becomes involved. Dante is a detective who has been put on administrative leave due to the fact that he shot the seventeen-year-old son of the wealthy Mitchell family. When it looks like the two cases may be connected, things really start to heat up and Calista learns that she is risking more than her heart, she just might be risking her life.

Once again, Jory Strong amazed this reviewer with her story. Calista’s Men is a fast-paced and gritty crime story, while also a moving love story. The three protagonists are all likable, interesting, and in the case of the men, very, very Alpha, while the secondary characters provide for some interesting moments. Ms. Strong always creates fascinating mysteries, and Calista’s Men is certainly no different. However, it was the growing relationship between Calista, Dante, and Benito that truly had me hooked. The brothers, while similar, are unique enough that they stand out and become their own characters, each with a special attraction to Calista that she reciprocates wholeheartedly. This is a very erotic and sensual story, but it is also incredibly loving. I especially enjoyed seeing Dante fall for Calista, as he was the more cynical and world-weary brother. This is a fantastic addition to Ms. Strong’s Crime Tells series. If you’re in the mood for a mystery that doesn’t lose track of the romance, than Crime Tells: Calista’s Men is the perfect story to read.
