Obsidion: Diamond in the Rough is the first of a trilogy and should be read in order.

Eli of Obsidion has three daughters with three specific requirements for their mates. In Diamond in the Rough we are introduced to the three women Emerald, Garnet, and Pearl. As the oldest, Emerald has demanded that she will accept no less than a prince for her mate. Newly returned Arik is the Crown Prince of Obsidion and the mate chosen for Emerald by The Matchmaker. Before returning to Obsidion, Arik was hunted down by mercenaries and left for dead. After healing on the primitive world of Eastphalia, Arik has returned from exile a scarred and bitter man. Will Emerald grow up and love Arik for himself? Can Arik let go of the past and embrace a future with Emerald?

Ann Jacobs takes 34 pages and turns them into an intriguing galaxy that pulls you in and takes over. This is a fantastic book that does so much! You find yourself cheering for Arik and watching Emerald grow up. Obsidion: Diamond in the Rough is the first chapter in an intriguing trilogy and I look forward to reading the rest. The next book in the series, Obsidion: Garnet’s Fantasy, is now available at Changeling Press.
