Peppermint Creek Inn

Sara Clarke hasn’t been able to really live since she lost her husband. She’s been trying to cope with the pressures of running an inn in the backwoods of Canada as well as dealing with strange happenings around her. First it was her husband’s murder and then the inn burning down, now a strange man shows up demanding that she tell him who he is.

‘Tom’ arrived at Sara’s just in time to threaten her with an empty gun and save her from a falling tree, not the best of starts to a relationship. When more and more clues as to who killed her husband show up, ‘Tom’ finds that he wants to do nothing but protect Sara as long as he lives. As his memory comes back, ‘Tom’ is afraid that he will hurt Sara and that he may be a criminal on the run from the cops. Startling incidents bring things to a climax that you won’t forget.

I have always enjoyed reading Jan Springer’s novels. This one was no exception. She has a wonderful gift for bringing characters alive and making you feel for them and with them. Not only are her characters wonderful, but the back-stories she gives each are well thought out and unique in each book. You never have to worry about things being formulaic. I enjoyed watching Sara come out of her shell and ‘Tom’ is a fascinating man. All in all, this is a great book and I hope to read Jo’s story soon.
