Power to the Max

Power to the Max is the fourth book in the Max series and should be read in order. The other books can be found at Liquid Silver.

Max Starr is a woman who is haunted by the death of her husband, literally. When Cameron died, he stayed with her to help her deal with both his death and her psychic abilities. While investigating the murders of three other women, she has found herself in a sticky relationship with Detective Witt Long. Now she’s embroiled in the investigation of yet another murder. While investigating, she finds herself facing inner demons and trying to overcome them.

Cameron guides her and Witt loves her, what does she give them? This story is such an amazing emotional roller coaster. This is the first book I’ve read by JB Skully, but it will not be the last. By the time I got to page 100 in Power to the Max I was signing on to Liquid Silver and buying the other four books. I did find it a little difficult to follow the back story in the beginning, but once in the story things are explained enough. Ms. Skully does such an amazing job with building the characters that I found myself actually hating the antagonist, Bud. I am not a person to feel so strongly towards a character, but I was hoping for him to get what he had coming from the very beginning of the book. Power to the Max is a very well written book that I highly recommend. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
