Three Days in New York City
A weekend away from her mundane life is just what Elizabeth thinks she needs. She intends to indulge in everything that she hasn’t been able to do in the past twenty years that she’s been a wife, mother and corporate employee. She plans to dress sexy, talk dirty and engage in the kinkiest sex of her life. And she knows just the man to give her the kind of carnal pleasure she’s only dreamed of.
Robin Slick has definitely written a story the likes of which I’ve never read before. It’s daring, arousing and a little edgy. Not knowing what I was expecting, I was at first intrigued then caught up in this author's erotic tale. Robin Slick does have quite an imagination when it comes to sensuality. While the sex was great, I didn’t care that these two people were having it; I just wanted to know why. The characters generally came across as superficial, and in this story that may have been the best way to make them believable. Robin Slick has written her main character Elizabeth to be funny, but insecure and, at times, sad. Elizabeth was just not as clearly defined as I would have like for her to have been. She would have been much better if she had grown more during the course of this story, but I didn’t get that in Three Days in New York City. Robin Slick has a certain flair that grabs you from the first paragraph; it sucks you in, arouses you and keeps you wanting to know more. In fact, no matter how I felt, I still had to know how this story would end. Three Days in New York is a short read that was certainly unexpected from beginning to end.
