Back From Hell
Jenai and Stephanie King, like their mama before them, are Night Stalkers. They have special abilities to hunt evil creatures - whether werewolf, vampire or fae - who prey on mortals. Both are hybrids and share a human mother; Stephanie is part werewolf while Jenai is part vampire. Jenai has been dedicating the last three years of her life to finding the one who killed her mother and step-father.
Ronan McAdams has been dreaming of Jenai for five years. It’s known that his kind will dream of their mate years before they actually meet. Five years of not knowing who she is, or where he could find his mate is trying his patience. Little does he know that he is on a collision course with his destiny, until the PSA, the Paranormal Security Administration, labels the King sisters as loose cannons. His orders are to either recruit Jenai and Stephanie, or terminate them.
Ms. Walker has crafted a fantastic tale which includes vampires, werewolves, witches, and the depths of Hell. This all results in an erotically charged, suspenseful, well written and very creative paranormal romance. Jenai is a strong-willed, independent and stubborn woman who is bent on revenge. She is quite angry that she cannot live her life the way she wants to. Destiny keeps interfering with her life and has presented her with Ronan. He's a dedicated, honest and compassionate man, who has finally found his true mate and will protect her at all costs. When they finally meet, their passion will leave you hot and bothered. The sexual tension, whether it’s consensual or non-consensual, is downright erotic. There are scenes of forced sex and violence, so this is not for the faint at heart. I really enjoyed the descriptive atmosphere, as the world that Ms. Walker creates is dark, morbid, and full of evil; it will definitely give you goosebumps. I felt like I needed to reach for some kind of religious artifact because the portrayal of the Under Realm and The Dark felt so real. The secondary characters play an important role in unraveling the plot, and the villains are quite a sinister bunch. From Jenai’s sister Stephanie to the creatures from Hell, they all help to create an intriguing plot. There are a few surprises within the book which I didn’t anticipate, and they kept my eyes glued to the pages from beginning to the very end. Back From Hell is a highly enjoyable story for any paranormal fanatic. Shiloh Walker is a definite auto-buy for me and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.
