Eye Candy

Best friends Erika Arnold and Mark Lincoln have known each other forever. They grew up together, they know each other’s secrets, and even became lawyers together. They’ve paid their dues, working in the District Attorney’s office and making a name for themselves. While going to get their new assignments at her uncle’s law firm, Erika and Mark overhear some men talking about Erika. The “Eye Candy” comment is just what Mark needs to begin teasing her. But when Erika meets her contemporary in the International Law division, she decides she likes her eye candy tall, dark, blue eyed and named Jack MacAddision. She and Jack have a chemistry which quickly ignites, but can it survive a year apart, another woman, and their preconceived notions?

As for Mark, his job in the Criminal Defense division also brings him into contact with something sweet. But Mark must face himself and his family before he can come to terms with his feelings for police officer Joshua Kincaid. Josh and his open way of dealing with something Mark has kept very secret for so long are almost too much for him, but he wants and needs to be with Josh. Will he be willing to come out for Josh?

Eye Candy is simply scrumptious. I enjoyed Erika and Mark and their wonderful friendship as well as their relationships with the men in their lives. Erika and Jack seemed to constantly rub each other the wrong way, both physically and emotionally. They both get their signals crossed and it takes a lot for them to trust each other enough for them to finally give into their sexual urges. And wow, were there some urges! Jack fights his attraction to Erika, first because they are separated for a year and second because of an unscrupulous woman who wants Jack for herself. I loved that the author could make me want to smack all of them even as I was hoping that they would get things straightened out. As for Mark and Josh…just think hot! Although I had some ideas about how I would feel about a male/male relationship, my misconceptions were quickly dispelled. The underlying relationship of caring and love is what will draw you in and keep you reading Eye Candy by J.J. Massa.
