Lenora has always been in love with Kabe Folker. Both are Solarian warriors, which are some of the best fighters in the galaxy. Kabe disappeared years ago on what should have been a simple flight. Lenora has waited and hoped against all hope that Kabe would return, but the years have passed and still no Kabe.

Lenora is given a mission to fly to the planet of Elnar; the fun begins when she lands to pick up energy fuel for the cloaking devices. Her wolf is her partner and has been with her for many years. Wolves are considered illegal in Elnar. Much to her amazement and surprise she runs into Kabe on Elnar. Kabe landed on the planet years ago when he had engine problems; stranded there he becomes a rebel to help them save the wolves from being killed.

Lenora rescues Kabe from Elnar, and they reawaken and renew their love for each other. As each admits their feelings of love, they go through a discovery of how each of them has changed. Now, danger surrounds them at every turn, as Elnar soldiers are pursuing them through space. Can they elude the soldiers and make it home safely after finding each other after all this time?

If you have ever enjoyed watching Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica, this book is just what you need to read! Lone Wolf One was an interesting, well-written short story. Wolves in many cultures are revered as they are in this story, sometimes even having abilities that can only enhance the person that is attached to them. Rae Monet clearly tells an engaging, realistic story that you can believe; this is also a great indulgence and a story to take you away into a world of the future. Lone Wolf One is romantic tale that enthusiastic sci-fi fans will love.

I am amazed at what an interesting and enjoyable book this was. Rae Monet’s love of wolves shows through and the respect that the characters have for such wonderful animals shows as well. I really loved it when Lenora’s wolf told her telepathically that danger was afoot. Lone Wolf One is a great short story to lose yourself in just for pure enjoyment! I have read Rae Monet’s books before and loved them; she is an author not to be missed. Lone Wolf One is definitely a keeper book so spoil yourself and check out this great book!
