Marry the Man Today
Marry the Man Today gives you a look at the viewpoint of Elizabeth Dunaway, a woman who was raised by two older staunch women's rights activists, and it shows you what women can do when they put their minds to something. Elizabeth is taught from a young age that marriage means losing all of one’s freedoms and rights, and that men completely dominate a woman’s life.
Elizabeth is a charismatic and strong-willed woman who has Ross Carrington, the Earl of Blakestone, going into instant attraction and lust for her, as he sees her out of a window as she marches for the women’s right to vote. He is so captivated that he will get her out of scrapes and jail time after time. When some women come up missing, Ross investigates the titled women who have disappeared; they all have one thing in common - they all belonged to Abigail Adams, the club that Elizabeth started for woman like herself.
What will happen when Ross finally gets his woman? Is Elizabeth the woman who can and will hold his attention, lust and love for all time? Elizabeth has no interest in marrying anyone, as she was brought up to believe that men are only good for one thing and one thing only!
Marry the Man Today captivated me from the get-go, drawing my interest like a moth to a flame. Not only did I enjoy this book immensely, but I also went and ordered the other books in the Gentleman Rogues Series. Linda Needham has a winner in Marry the Man Today! The book keeps you on your toes wondering and hoping that nothing will happen to Elizabeth. Even without all the suspense and drama, this book would still captivate and tantalize your senses as the romance heats up.
I enjoyed the way I was introduced to this 1850’s women’s libber and fighter of rights for all women. This was not just an enjoyable read, but a learning experience as to how women back then had to act and pretend to be so witless when they were a lot more intelligent and had more on the ball than some men. Give me a sexy, titled English man to heat me up anyday. This story has it all, and is an excellent book that will hold your attention and entertain you as well.
