Grace, whom you met in The Bride’s Necklace, is a strong woman who will stand by her principles and what she believes in no matter what! Grace is given a necklace by her best friend Victoria Easton, the Countess of Brant, that is thought to bring your one true love into your life. Grace’s real father, the Viscount Forsythe, is in jail waiting to be hung for treason and she is going to get him out one way or another. She believes her father is innocent.

Grace is heading to visit her father' aunts when Captain Ethan Sharpe, the Marquess of Belford, takes her off the ship she is traveling on. He says that she is wanted for questioning. Ethan was in a jail in France where he lost all of his crew but a few. Now all Ethan lives for is revenge, a revenge that controls his whole life leaving nothing left...or so he thinks until he comes across Grace. Now, he wants to splurge and enjoy the urges he has for Grace. While Ethan is eaten up over his feelings for Grace, his driving need for revenge, and his desire to capture her father, Grace falls in love with Ethan, and the secret she hides from him will change their lives irrevocably.

Does the course of true love ever run smooth? Ethan marries Grace but in the background is Martin Tully, Earl of Collingwood, who seems enamored of Grace and hovers around her. Is Grace the real traitor, or is there another? Can there be some way that love will triumph?

The Devils’ Necklace by Kat Martin is a gripping book - once you pick it up you can not out it down! Not only are the characters entertaining and quite loving, but the story also flows right off the page and into your head as you're encompassed by the author's graphic word pictures.

Get The Devil’s Necklace; you'll be glad that you did. Give it a look and realize what an excellent book it really is. I was mesmerized and enthusiastically captured by Grace and Ethan’s tale. While everything written by Kat Martin is worthy of a look, The Devil's Necklace is certainly a must-read!

Leave the cleaning; forget the dust; want a book full of lust? This is the one for you! Full of romance, excitement and cliff-hanging moments this one will carry you right up to the edge. Fraught with excitement from page to page, Kat Martin makes it difficult (if not nearly impossible) to pass this story up.

One of my favorite parts of the book was when Ethan made a serious demand on Grace to change her mind and she refused him (in no uncertain terms, no less); this shows just how strong of a person Grace is. Another was when the man who raised Grace shows up to insult her; Ethan sticks up for her as he will not have his woman be insulted or maligned by anyone. I would tell you all of my favorite scenes, but you must get the book and take a look for yourself and decide which ones are your own personal favorites. I can not wait for the exciting conclusion to this trilogy, The Handmaiden’s Necklace, which will be available in December of 2005.
