Prince of the Mist

Tia is running from the carjacker who has taken her hostage. She knows she’s hurt and out of places to hide as the maniac gains on her. Suddenly a thick fog rolls in, covering everything and giving her the opportunity to hide. Then a gorgeous blond hiker appears, his hand outstretched. The last thing she remembers is taking that hand.

Wildon is the son of the King of the Sidhe. Tia is the most beautiful woman that he’s ever seen, he senses a depth of emotion within her that he could never find among his fellow Sidhe. Immortality is very lonely when you have no one to stand by your side. When he sees her fleeing from her captor, he has to step in and save her. While she is recovering, he takes her for his wife.

Wildon has been spending time in the human world trying to make humans realize how poorly they are treating the environment. Tia’s mother, Angela, is a powerful U.S. Senator in the running for the presidency, but she is backing a bill that will turn the land above his home into a nuclear power plant. He will return to the human world with Tia to “charm” her mother into being more environmentally friendly. Will Tia be able to trust Wildon when she discovers his hidden agenda?

Ms. Marzec has created a sweet story that covers the full range of emotions. The plot is simple, but effective; the characters are likable and easy to relate to. This is a very clear-cut story with your typical romance recipe. The author does a good job of expressing Tia’s continuing surprise when Wildon uses his magic. Prince of the Mist has all of the necessary elements of a good romance, but is a little bit predictable. There is little action and it is not particularly well-developed, almost like it is an afterthought. This is mostly written for readers who are knowledgeable of the Sidhe and their traditions, as there is little effort spent exposing the reader to the Sidhe world. All in all, this is an excellent story and well worth reading.
