Leave No Trace

Nick Seek, undercover federal natural resources agent, attempts to visit her aunt and uncle, only to find that they’ve missed appointments and abandoned their cabin. Spooky and unexplained events occur and that, combined with no word from either her aunt or uncle, leads her to suspect foul play. She’s stumbled into a hornet’s nest, caught between the tree-huggers and the land developers.

She also meets the hunky sheriff, named John McGuinn, and her much-ignored libido makes its presence known. He is immediately suspicious of her motives for showing up now, but he, too, is interested. The fireworks start when someone turns up murdered and other crimes, in the form of kidnapping and vandalism, take place. Nick is both a suspect and a victim, and her job is on the line here as well.

Leave No Trace hums with near non-stop action, fast-paced dialogue, and love at the speed of light. Lynn Romaine delivers the goods with this romantic thriller, pitting a woman’s love of truth and integrity against eco-terrorists and extreme personal danger. Nick’s struggle with her fears and emotional baggage is a sub-story that will resonate with readers, making her a heroine for the ages. Kudos to Lynn Romaine on a riveting and well-crafted novel!
