Soul Protector

Sari is a Healer, trained by her aunt and adoptive family. Blood, death and devastation - these are the gifts of the “demon-men” to Sari’s people. When she is rescued from a certain death by a mysterious dweller of the catacombs, she is shocked to recognize him from her dreams. Who is this strange being who has saved her and why does she recognize him?

Elicean is a Sumerian, and he knows of these who take the blood from the surface dwellers. He has seen the destruction that they wreak, and acts quickly when he sees Sari endangered. For there is a war going on under the ground as well and the stakes are far-reaching and could even be catastrophic. He plans to call the Order of the Mist, a ruling body of legend, to stop this reign of terror even as he is met by serious opposition. As if this isn’t trouble enough, he must also deal with Sari learning the secret of his identity. However, little does Eli know of the insidious plot against his own life from an unexpected source.

Lil Gibson crafts a world of wonder and immense evil in Soul Protector, weaving threads of history and folklore among the many paranormal abilities of this story. The author does a fabulous job of creating her characters, both good and evil. Sari and Eli are immensely powerful and endearing, all while struggling with their personal conflicts. The ending of Soul Protector lends itself to a sequel or a series and I, for one, can’t wait!
