Wager of Sin
Marriage was Bianca’s introduction to a heady and sensuous erotic world. Oscar Clairemont had inducted and addicted his innocent bride to pleasure; so much so that she had been unable to go without sex after his untimely death. Of course, she had lovers, but all had bored her within a short time. Only one man constantly intrigued Bianca, Lucius Hawkins, also known as Hawk. Hawk was her late husband’s closest comrade, and is now her gambling partner. Unfortunately, while she was distracted by Hawk’s handsome physique and witty repartee, Bianca had unwittingly gambled away most of her large inheritance. She was not worried until her father declared that her lifestyle was decadent and that he intended to have the court place her back under his supervision. Bianca made plans to leave for the continent, but she could not run away until she regained some of her funds from Hawk. After dismissing her current lover, Bianca decides that she will offer herself to Hawk for one month; if he cannot give her up he must repay her betting funds.
Hawk has lusted after Bianca for years. He was always confident that she would come to him one day, so her idea for a wager plays right into his hands. Hawk inserts a clause of his own, one that Bianca had not foreseen and one that will throw her completely. Their wicked game is a battle for the upper hand, a clash for control and a challenge of wills as each tries to put off the delicious release that they crave so desperately, to gain the upper hand.
Jess Michaels’ sinfully sensuous erotic tale will leave readers panting for more. The boudoir scenes are entrancing and highly explicit. The emotional entanglement between the couple is thick, and neither sees the danger that they are placing their hearts in by playing such a fickle game. Although the plot is fairly simple, an element of danger increases the love and lust to volatile levels. There is much more to their social entanglement than either one had ever realised. I have totally relished Wager of Sin, and am sure that fans who love their historicals with an erotic bite will not want to miss this one!
