Telesians 1: The Siren’s Challenge

What do you get when you combine one dominant female with one dominant male? A potentially combustible situation!

Captain Jeff Holst’s government has a new opponent in its game of intergalactic domination. Intelligence reports indicate incursion into their territory might come from Teles - the Siren Jeff is staring at seems to bear out the reports. This Siren Commander is likely to prove as warlike as she is beautiful and Jeff is definitely not going to fall into the category of other Alliance captains who have forfeited their rank by underestimating a Siren's cunning. He's there to force this Siren into vacating a moon the Alliance needs in order to obtain the Iridium needed for their water purification systems.

Commander Chiara DaeJanay doesn't acknowledge the Alliance High Command's right to the moon or its Iridium and offers to sell the ore to the Alliance, only to have Jeff inform her that his ship has enough firepower to blast the moon to bits. She informs him that, that wouldn't get him any Iridium.

After taking a few moments to think about where the Sirens take their name from, Jeff determines that he is going to try to influence the Commander to issue a challenge. The only problem is that he hasn't counted on the type of challenge Chiara is going to issue - a sexual combat challenge.

Ms. Gaines has written an interesting erotic sci-fi romance. I really thought the idea of a sexual combat challenge was unique and I read with bated breath to see what Jeff and Chiara had in store for each other. Both characters are strong, independent and caring. Readers will be able to see their growth throughout the story and the love they develop for each other. Fortunately for us, the readers, Telesians 1: The Siren's Challenge is only the first in this exciting series. I'm looking forward to the next and hope Ms. Gaines writes swiftly.
