The Hunters: Rafe and Sheila

Sheila loves Rafe, but he doesn’t seem to want her for anything more than sexual interludes. He certainly doesn’t love her as she loves him. Sheila can’t stand the tension between them, can’t stand knowing that Rafe may never love her, so she leaves the vampire enclave where she is living and heads to Memphis, away from the memories of Rafe. But Rafe isn’t about to let Sheila escape him. He follows her to Memphis in order to bring her back to him, back into his life so he won’t be lonely and aching for her any longer.

His plan isn’t as easy as he thought it would be. For one thing, he finds Sheila with another man, and for another, powerful evil forces are at work in Memphis, hurting innocent people, vampires, and witches. But Rafe is up to the challenge. Not only does he discover some new powers within himself, but he becomes determined to protect the city that feels like home to him. And then there’s Sheila… he’ll have her back no matter what it takes.

The Hunters: Rafe and Sheila is another story in the continuing saga of the Hunters. It is fast paced, brutal in its intensity, but also very loving and erotic. I enjoyed the fact that Sheila didn’t make it easy for Rafe to win her back, she made him work for it, which made their budding relationship all the more stronger because they both had to share pieces of themselves that they had been holding back. Added to their relationship is the introduction of several new characters and a very evil antagonist, all of which ensures that The Hunters: Rafe and Sheila will keep you on your toes. This is yet another wonderful example of Shiloh Walker’s storytelling capabilities and I eagerly await what she has in store for her next Hunters book.
