Dark Kisses
As one of the top rated and most sought after CIA undercover agents, Ty Hamilton knew the rules. He knew that you had to stay unattached, not get involved, basically be a machine in order to succeed at his dangerous, high stress job, especially while undercover. Yet after one glimpse of Carrie Winslow, he also knew he’d soon break all of those rules to be with her. Although the man he’s hunting had hurt people in the past, he’s not deemed a threat, so Ty decides to use this opportunity to get to know Carrie. And although he knows nothing can ever come of it, he’s decided to make the most of any time they’ll have together.
Carrie has lived in Peking, Georgia all of her life. While she doesn’t always like the small town nosiness, it’s all she’s ever known and she’s determined to make the best of it. She works hard as an attorney, lives a quiet life and tries to improve the community. But when Ty blows into to town, talking about dangerous men, stolen money and arrests, she knows things are about to change. He’s too sexy, too masculine and she’s way too attracted to him.
Although a quick read, Dark Kisses is an intense story that packs a punch. Ty and Carrie are immediately attracted to each other and the sexual tension builds right from the start. They both know in their heads that they’re all wrong for each other, but physically they can’t resist each other. Yet easing their sexual needs is only the beginning. Carrie is a strong woman who realizes the depths of her strength when she is confronted with the prejudice in her family and town. Ty, no stranger to that reaction, supports her and shows her the strength of his love. In addition to the sexual tension and relationship growth, there are several unexpected aspects of the story, such as Carrie’s falling out with her best friend and her love-hate relationship with her parents, which will give you more than enough to keep you engaged to the last page. Block off enough time to read this in one sitting because you won’t want to put it down.
