Calypso’s Secrets
Calypso’s Secrets welcomes readers to the beautiful scenic waters of the Florida Keys where beauty and opulence grace the shores and intrigue is concealed beneath the waters.
Skylar Connelly has come to the Florida Keys to discover the secrets behind her sister Maia’s disappearance. Casa Del Mar is the last place she was seen and the first place Skylar will begin her search. However, once entrenched in the household, Skylar is confronted with a collection of suspects and very few clues. She must deal with the unbidden desire for the man that last saw her sister alive. At every turn she is warned not to dig too deeply, yet are the people offering the warnings the ones she should fear the most?
Isabelle Kane has crafted a solid romantic suspense that is sure to delight fans. From beginning to end, readers are treated to a story that somehow manages to keep some of its secrets hidden until the very end. Ms. Kane does a remarkable job offering conjecture on what has happened to Maia, but the truth is closely, dramatically revealed. Throughout the twists and turns, the author brings to life a sinister feeling that will have readers hooked. The author shifts seamlessly between the developing romance involving Skylar and Luke and the investigation into Maia’s disappearance. The plot is balanced well. There is no rushing in with a quick fix; instead the story develops over weeks, lending credence to the emotion and action that is building. Whereas I found the tension and plot a pleasure to experience, the real boon of the story is in the characters. From page one, readers are treated to characters with distinct personality and presence. The manner in which each person is portrayed will have readers wondering just who holds the keys to Calypso’s Secrets. So if you are looking for a romantic suspense that will get your blood pumping, grab yourself a copy and start reading.
