Candlelight and Shadows

Danielle Ord doesn’t understand why someone is terrorizing her. First the hit and run that landed her in the hospital, the package with the dead bird, the pizza, and then Danielle goes into premature labor. When her baby, David, has to have heart surgery, Sandy, the detective on the case, calls Danielle’s mother-in-law, Beatrice to help with the financial costs. Danielle doesn’t want to have to deal with her, but it looks like she’d going to have to after all. Just what strings are going to be attached to Beatrice’s help, she doesn’t know and that’s what scares her.

Sandy March wanted Danielle from the first moment he saw her, investigating her husband’s murder. Now he has to try to keep her safe from the person or persons who are bound and determined to hurt her and David. Moving Danielle and her son into the Ord mansion was supposed to keep David safe, but it turned out not to be so secure after all, the nanny has run off with him. Danielle’s world has just collapsed and she has to believe that Sandy can get him back unharmed. All he has to do is find out who’s after her and the Ord family. With things happening so fast, will Sandy be able to get David back before anything else happens?

The story Ms. Williams has written will take the readers on a ride of suspense and illustrates the wonder of how love can be built between two people who deserve happiness. The author makes the characters so believable that they will tug at your heart strings and make you want to go slay the dragons for them. Danielle is at first seen as unable to deal with her situation, but then as the story progresses you see she has the fortitude and steel to not only come through it, but to also to stand up for herself. Sandy is the type of man that all readers will wish they could take home and keep for themselves.
