Honey’s Love

Waco Carter knew that she was the woman for him as soon as he saw her, even though she was disheveled from the fast buggy ride. Honey is all that a lady should be - kind, loving and generous, even with everything that life has thrown at her. After seeing her house in town, Waco feels that he can’t give her everything that she deserves; he only has a little ranch, and it’s nothing fancy. Even though he knows that courting her won’t help her standing with the town folks, he has to see her and her son, Jerry Jr., and help them in any way he can. Staying away is proving to be the hardest thing for Waco to do; he tries to keep busy with the cattle, horses, and mining the ore he’s found on his property. Can Honey look past his Indian heritage to the man he is and love him, or will she bow to convention? Will Waco finally be able to tell her of his love before it’s too late?

Ms. Nichols’ story is one of hardship, love and acceptance, The author’s attention to detail lets the reader picture the scene so well that they can almost smell the flowers, feel the rain falling and sweat from the heat of the hot sun. Ms. Nichols gives the readers some historical events along with the story that only make it more believable and help it to flow smoothly from one scene into the next without a hitch.
