Rough Edges

Gina Liberatti is an image consultant and her newest client Stone Mitchell, owner of Falcon Ridge Ranch, wants her help so he can be married by Christmas. There are only a couple of things she thinks he needs to change, one the beard and mustache need to go, and the second is his over bearing ways. He speaks to her on a deeper level but she’s decided not to listen. Gina had already had two domineering men in her life, her father and her late husband, and she doesn’t want another one. But when her son Jack gets into trouble with the law, it seems she’ll be spending more time with Stone than she’d like. She loves her independence and not answering to man, but Stone just can’t seem to get that through his head. Will she be able to make him see that if he doesn’t change there’s no hope for them to become a family?

Stone Mitchell was tired of being alone and after talking to a friend finds that he needs the help of an image consultant and goes to Gina. He’d had his eye on his neighbor, that is until he saw Gina and danced with her for the first time, then things changed. While helping her with her sons Jack and Chris, Stone finds he wants Gina as his wife and her boys as his sons. Having them at his ranch and showing her that he can take care of her should’ve worked, only it was doing the opposite. He has to figure out what is wrong with his take-charge attitude or he knows he’ll lose her and the boys forever.

Rough Edges is such a well-written book the reader can feel the frustration Gina feels towards Stone trying to take over all the decision making. Ms. Pirri’s descriptions are so detailed you not only feel the heat between Stone and Gina, but you also feel how Jack and Chris feel about the circumstances and their surroundings.
