Wolf Mates 2: What’s New Pussycat?
After talking to his brother Max, Derrick takes the cat that he’d picked up at the rest stop to his house. He couldn’t believe it. Eva had to be wrong. He couldn’t be carrying his lifemate in a cat carrier. There’s no way that a wolf and a cat can mate, or so Derrick thinks. When he finds a beautiful woman standing in his house, he’s tongue tied, especially when she says “meow.” This was his cat? Derrick wants her like he’s never wanted another woman before. The more time he spends with Martine, the more he realizes she’s the piece he didn’t realize was missing. Now he just has to convince her that they are more than just sex buddies.
Martine, a familiar to Escobar, a warlock, was used to her kitty penthouse, eating caviar, not eating baked beans with bacon from a can. She wasn’t having it, Escobar would come find her. She did not want to be out in the boonies with “farm boy” who claims to be a werewolf and who was supposed to be her lifemate. But Martine wants Derrick; she waits until he goes to sleep and shapeshifts, knowing that he’ll just think it’s been a dream. She figures once she’s had him, she’ll get it out of her system and she can then find her way back to New York. But once she’s made love to him, Martine doesn’t want to leave. Can she just keep having sex with him without her heart getting involved and what is this about the prophecy?
Ms. Cassidy has once again entertained this reader with her sense of humor and storytelling abilities. The repartee between Derrick and Martine will have readers laughing out loud and loving these characters, knowing they just belong with each other. I laughed so hard when Derrick and Martine are having just one of their discussions and he calls her Garfield. From the first page to the last page, this story is one that every reader will be glued to.
