Bad Boys Over Easy
Fuzzy Logic – Erin McCarthy
Lucas has been in love with Ashley for as long as he can remember, but he never thought that Ashley would go for her younger brother’s geeky best friend. When a box is mistakenly delivered to his apartment instead of Ashley’s, a sequence of events are set into motion that Lucas never expected. Lucas wants nothing more than to tell Ashley of his love and desire for her. It looks like, with Ashley’s career move as a Pleasure Party consultant, he just might get the chance.
As always, Erin McCarthy delivers a story that entwines comedy and romance. Even in her short stories, readers can relate to, and enjoy, her characters. Fuzzy Logic is a fun story that shouldn’t be missed. As one of my favorite authors, whether it’s a short story or a full-length novel, a book by Erin McCarthy is one I know I’ll enjoy.
The Cupid Curse – Jen Nicholas
Valentine Lewis has come up with the mother of all ideas. Known as a self-professed man hater, she’s come to the conclusion that it’s not all men that she hates; just the ones she’s been unfortunate to know. Her plan, to avoid another man likes those she always seems to attract, is to appeal to Cupid to find her a mate.
Jen Nicholas’ The Cupid Curse is like a breath of fresh air. When this particular Cupid’s arrow goes astray anything can and does happen. I liked Ms. Nicholas’ idea of a world where Cupids help the “heartfelt and genuine” in matters of the heart. The Cupid’s Curse is the kind of story where readers will smile and laugh out loud whilst reading it. I truly hope it’s just the beginning because the hints of Tasha’s story have me anticipating what Jen Nicholas can come up with next.
Mesmerized – Jordan Summers
Amanda Dillon is a hypnotist, also known as the “Man Tamer of Manhattan”. Amanda’s stage show, which features men “wooing” her, is where the reputation comes from, but she knows differently. Lately Amanda’s been thinking that there’s something missing in her life, thinking that she needs and wants more. An audience member not waking up from one of her trances isn't the “more” that Amanda had in mind.
Jordan Summers’ Mesmerized is one story you want to make sure to read. In just a few pages readers will be absorbed by Amanda and Derek’s getting to know each other. Readers will know there’s trouble brewing, but the ride there is sizzling. Mesmerized will be over before you know it and if you’re like me, you’ll be wondering what else Jordan Summers has written and how fast you can get to it.
Bad Boys Over Easy is just an awesome read all the way around. If you’ve never read one of the anthologies from Brava, Bad Boys Over Easy is a great place to start. If you have read the Brava anthologies, then Bad Boys Over Easy is definitely an auto-buy.
