In Southern Exposure, Karen Kelley reveals to readers a tale of love and intrigue so intense that once I picked this book up, I didn’t put it back down until I had finished it.

Logan’s big mouth had gotten him into his current predicament. Having stated that there was no job he couldn’t do, for the last several weeks he’d been doing every job his readers could come up with and then writing a series of articles about it. Tonight’s job had him wearing rip away pants and a g-string.

Jody’s best friend had only wanted to spice up her life. Neither of them could have known what one night of a little harmless fun could develop into. From the moment Jody had seen Logan on stage she felt the connection between them. Never one for attachments, she let herself believe that one night in his arms would be enough; she should have known better. Logan’s next “job” was to be her ride along for the next month. Jody hadn’t been able to stop thinking about Logan since the night they’d spent together and now with him sitting beside her every day, she didn’t know how she’d stay away from him.

Logan had no intentions of letting Jody go that easily. He hadn’t been pleased to wake up and find her gone and now that he has another chance with her, he doesn’t intend to waste it. Logan quickly notices that there’s a sadness that surrounds Jody. The reporter in him is intrigued and he resolves to find out more. Jody’s traumatic past quickly catches up with her and she can’t help but wonder if Logan wants her for herself or if she’s just another story to write.

Southern Exposure is explosive! There’s so much to this story that it astounds at every level. I love the banter between Jody and Andrea. Ms. Kelley really captures the emotions of a true friendship. The realizations of what Jody and Logan mean to each other is enduring because it is so well written. The fun, and sometimes erotic, dialogue makes this book all that more enjoyable to read. At the very foundation, Jody is afraid to trust in anything, but when it comes down to it she’s stronger than she thinks. She doesn’t run from the things that scare her, she faces them head on. Sometimes it’s Logan that scares her, or how much she feels for him. As a cop Jody feels it’s her duty to serve and protect, but to read about this strong heroine learning to trust and rely on her lover is fantastic. Put simply, you have got to read this book! Karen Kelley is not an author to be missed. Southern Exposure is a definite must read and therefore a 5 Angel Recommended Read!
