There was a great plot and wonderful character evolution in Stone Roses. The fantasy/paranormal elements combined with Alicia Sparks’ engaging writing style to draw a reader in; the twists and switchbacks as to the source of the evil combined with a unique concept to create a wonderful story.

In Have Mercy by Rachel Carrington, Allyn Michaels has been cursed by a witch and will lose her eyesight unless she can make it to the place of miracles before the winter solstice. This presents a problem, as she has no transportation and is lost to boot.

Keane’s day goes from bad to worse when he meets a gorgeous, naked woman. A solitary man, he is wondering if the Fates sent Allyn to temp him or to test him. He’s got issues with who and what he is, and Allyn is determined to get him past the guilt that haunts him.

Rachel Carrington spins a tale of magic, revenge, loss and enchantment as Allyn and Keane each seek redemption and healing for their past deeds. This was my favorite from this anthology; I loved the way Kane and Allyn came to need each other in spite of their differences. The sparks that fly between these two characters are intense; Have Mercy will wrap itself around you and take hold of your heart!
