Come Up and See Me Sometime

The minute that Isabel Harrison looks up from her clipboard and sees the gorgeous man standing in her doorway she knows he is trouble. The man simply exudes raw masculinity and she’s not sure whether she should bask in it or run for her life. When he steps into her office and introduces himself as Alex Trahern she realizes she should have run.

When Alex discovers that Isabel, the daughter of the man whom he holds responsible for his father’s death, has called his assistant on behalf of a client who wants to hire him, he is furious. As he is in the middle of planning a hostile takeover of her father’s company he is more than a little suspicious of the timing. Alex, being a man of action, decides to pay Ms. Harrison a visit to find out exactly what kind of game she is playing. The fact that he has been fantasizing about her for two years based on nothing except a black and white photo has nothing whatsoever to do with his decision.

Initially, Alex and Isabel reminded me of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. Alex is pure alpha male while Isabel is innocence personified; at least on the surface. As the story progressed it became very clear that there was much more lurking below the surface of both characters. Isabel and Alex are an unlikely match and must learn to trust each other despite the evidence that says they cannot do so. Ms. Monroe never fails to deliver a story that is overflowing with emotion and sizzle. Come Up and See Me Sometime fits that description to a tee and if you have not picked up a book by Lucy Monroe I highly encourage you to do so, you won’t regret it.
