Recipe for Love
Michael Ashford is bored, edgy and very dissatisfied with his life. He is irritable and exhausted from sleepless nights spent tossing and turning and is in no mood for the errand that his mother insists he agreed to do. Though he has no memory of agreeing to help her caterer transport things for an event at the home of his parents he knows it is useless to argue with his mother so he heads to the home of Kashmira Shaw.
Kashmira immediately recognizes Michael as the son of her favorite clients. She has had a fascination with him from the moment she saw his picture in their home. He is better looking in person and the undeniable pull that she feels toward him cannot be denied face to face. It’s obvious that Michael feels the same attraction but they have totally opposing views as to where they would like the attraction to go.
Kashmira is looking for love. Her parent’s marriage was not a happy one and she refuses to settle for anything less than total love and devotion from her man. Michael has been burned very badly by a past relationship. He refuses to make himself vulnerable to someone by handing over his heart. Will Kashmira settle for what he offers or can she convince him to take a chance on love?
This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Pereira, but I am eagerly awaiting the sequel which will tell the story of Michael’s brother, Joshua. I was riveted from the first sentence. The emotions seem to roll off the pages in waves so that you cannot help but be drawn into the story and into the lives of these characters. This is a book that grabs you and doesn’t let go until the very last word. I will definitely be taking a very close look at Ms. Pereira’s back list and encourage you to do the same.
