Nocturnique

Ever since the religious zealots had converted Shawn’s sweet young wife, Hillary into a paragon of piousness, he felt like an outsider in his own home.

Hillary had not been shy in high school, but now she ignores his advances and prefers to have their small dog share her bed. Sex is now for procreation only and Shawn’s suggestions for a little light recreational loving are not even taken seriously. His one indulgence, a second-hand red velveteen office chair bought at an auction, is about to pick up on Hillary’s negligence and take Shawn for the ride of his life.

Nocturnique is an enjoyable erotic daydream. The young husband’s frustration at his wife’s coolness is tangible. Readers know that he deserves mush more and are swept along on this unexpected night of passion. A twist in the ending provides Shawn with a surprise treat and readers with a satisfying conclusion. My only complaint is that this was too short and I would love to read more of these erotic fantasies. Nocturnique has whetted my appetite; I look forward to reading more of Desiree Erotique’s imagery in her backlist.
