Rachel had found the young woman in an alley beaten and bruised, drifting in and out of consciousness. She took her back to her apartment and gave her the time to recover. Sa Rah’s amnesia seemed to be permanent. She did not remember anything about her previous life, so Sa Rah began work as an exotic dancer at The Dark Lantern. Rachel worked here too, in the office. The arrangement gave them both security and company.

Occasionally, Sa Rah dreamt of a Shadow Man. Each night she searched the crowds of men for his presence. She was sure that she would sense him when he came for her. Sa Rah was special; she drove males wild when she danced. Although she never completely undressed, her movements and slinky bodysuit summoned and stoked each man’s primal desires to a frenzy. As her dances ended, the club’s bouncers fought off the men when they rushed the stage, practically blinded by their need for her.

Tristan Zax was relieved that he had finally found the princess. He kept his mind shielded so that he would not scare her off immediately, but it soon becomes apparent that she does not remember him. Sa Rah is his truth mate, and she had even given him the Majva, a turquoise stone which was symbolic of a betrothal promise on her native planet, Tanviera. Her dance is a summoning dance for her truth mate and each time she moves, Tristan is pushed a little further over the edge. The sight of other males lusting for his mate only serves to incite Tristan.

Slowly the images and memories resurface. Unfortunately, just as all is beginning to come back to Sa Rah, Tristan whisks her away to another planet, in another time. He does not reveal that he must hide her from a Diharan Shadow assassin, but these tactics force Sa Rah to recall another lost moment. It was a day when Sa Rah watched in horror as Tristan had transformed into a beast and was on the brink of killing her best friend in a jealous rage.

Eden Robins’ highly erotic futuristic tale kept this reader on the edge of her chair as the constant and increasing danger is focused on a heroine who is unaware of the depth of her peril. Only the man that she both loves and fears is willing to risk his own life to save her. Tristan is unable to accept that his soul mate must die for an assassin’s honor and is determined to make Sa Rah love him completely; both the man and the beast within. The characters are well developed (and some are even well endowed) and the many contrasting personalities bring the story alive. The author’s vision is realistic, with clear images of the dingy night club, harsh desert landscape and a luxurious home in a lush pastoral setting. Erotic love scenes are explicit and scorching hot. A concurrent romantic storyline adds to the eroticism with teasing and boundless lust. The author hints that this tale will be unleashed in a future book.

Whatever Tomorrow Brings is the author’s third futuristic/time travel tale and I would recommend it to readers who enjoy their romances with a touch of futuristic fantasy and a lavish amount of hot sex.
