Cupid’s Desire

Damon Murrietta, also known as Cupid, and Jess McGuire, Desire, have a special mission in Lynn Warren’s third title in the Immortality Incorporated series. Damon and Jess have to match up widower Anthony LeMans with construction company owner Ronnie Berkowitz, a woman who is struggling to raise two young children while keeping her business afloat. Ronnie and Anthony seem like total opposites, but when Cupid and Desire are in the background, it’s inevitable that true love will win out…right? Unfortunately, it seems like there is no way Damon and Jess are going to get this couple together.

However, the more time Jess and Damon spend together working on their latest assignment, the more the sparks fly! Damon is a diehard bachelor, but as he gets to know the very insecure Jess, he can’t help but become more emotionally involved than he would have thought possible. For her part, Jess is very scared of the desire she feels for Damon. Jess has been repeatedly rejected by the men she has dated, and to even consider sleeping with the Casanova Damon, well, she knows she couldn’t satisfy him. Damon however has other ideas. Jess is rapidly becoming his ideal woman. If only he can convince her that he’s serious about her that he wants to not only make passionate love to her, but that he may also want to start a life with her.

Added to these already emotional romances is the fact that there is trouble brewing for Nic, Time, the head of Immortality Incorporated, and his true love Aurora, Fate. A deception from their past is forcing Aurora to take a hard look at her life with Nic. She’s feeling betrayed and it seems as if even the antics of Cupid and Desire won’t be able to heal the breach between this couple.

Cupid’s Desire is a phenomenal follow-up in Ms. Warren’s Immortality Incorporated series. Not only does the reader get to know Damon and Jess, but they are better introduced to several other Aspects: Deception, Guilt and Chaos. All these Aspects have a part to play in this tapestry of love. Nevertheless, Ms. Warren definitely keeps the main focus on the storyline between Jess and Damon. The double entendres and witty barbs these two exchange are hilarious, adding a level of sexual foreplay to the story that hasn’t been present in her other Immortality Incorporated books. The sweet romance building between Ronnie and Anthony is an added bonus, as is the trouble between Aurora and Nic. It is great being able to revisit these characters again and again as it allows the readers to really get to know them and become part of the story in a way that isn’t possible in other romance stories. Though the plot between Nic and Aurora may be somewhat hard to follow if! you haven’t read the first two books, Ms. Warren provides enough description of their relationship to ensure that any reader shouldn’t be lost.

This is a great story and whether or not you are new to this series, you really won’t want to miss it. The characters, the dialogue and the sensuality all ensure that you will leave the pages of this story satisfied.
