Flesh and Blood

Faith Richardson is on the run, hiding a deadly formula. She knows she will only be safe when she is with Sam Kincaid, the former bodyguard who used to guard the formula himself, before Paul Richardson died. Faith is in a lot of trouble and as much as Sam would like to turn her away, he can’t. Sam has been in lust with Faith from the moment he met her, and now that she’s free, and in danger, well…his protective instincts kick in big time. In exchange for his protection, Faith agrees to do anything, an offer Sam just can’t resist. He knows he should resist, but the thought of finally having his way with Faith is too much temptation. Thus begins their journey, a long and dangerous road in which more truths are revealed than Faith had ever thought possible. For, unbeknownst to her, she discovers that Sam isn’t quite human. He’s a vampire, but he’s also a demon.

Faith’s innocence in the world is shattered when she discovers the existence of paranormal entities that she thought were only imaginary things that went bump in the night. But though her innocence is gone, her trust in Sam increases tenfold the more time they are together. He’s going to protect her no matter the cost to himself, and if that means death, then so be it. But Faith has finally met a man she can trust and she is not about to lose him. Follow their exciting journey in Ms. Adams’ Dark Promises-Flesh and Blood.

This story was a thrill ride from beginning to end. The twists and turns that Ms. Adams creates are not only unexpected, but they all further the plot. Of course, the real thrill to this story is watching Sam and Faith admit their love for each other. Both have separate reasons for needing to remain alone, but they both find that their mutual attraction is too strong to withstand. Nevertheless, their road to happily-ever-after isn’t easy, and that isn’t even considering all the danger that comes from the various men chasing after Faith. They both have issues of trust to overcome before any future is possible. This story is part of Ms. Adams’ Dark Promises series, but it is most definitely a standalone, though various characters from her previous stories make appearances.

If you’re a fan of vampire paranormal romances, you without a doubt won’t want to miss Dark Promises-Flesh and Blood. The romance alone is enough to hook any fan of love stories, but it is the intriguing mysteries that Elisa Adams creates that are guaranteed to have you keep reading.
