Stephanie Burbank wants to get laid. She hasn’t had sex in forever and it’s all due to her dead ex-husband Jeremy. Every time a man gets close to her, his clothes start on fire. It seems Jeremy has a bit of the arsonist in him. What used to be plain weird has become just downright annoying though, especially because Stephanie is very attracted to her neighbor Rafe Hammond. He’s the sexiest man she has seen in awhile and she’s even willing to risk a potential fire in order to get a little of what he’s offering.

As much as Rafe would like to get closer to his pretty neighbor, he is having a problem. He has a ghost following him around, a ghost that gets very jealous whenever he is with a woman. In fact, Annabelle the ghost gets so jealous that she drops buckets of ice water on her victims. Rafe is about to go out of his mind with lust, but as much as he would like to get close to Stephanie, it just doesn’t seem like there is a way to win against the ghosts in their lives. After their first date is a bust, both Stephanie and Rafe are feeling extremely amorous and very angry. Is there anyway to beat Annabelle and Jeremy at their own game?

Tawny Taylor’s latest read is a laugh-out-loud romance that has an intriguing paranormal spin. Though known for her sensuality and believable characters, Ms. Taylor managed to surprise this reader with all the humor in this story. This is a short story that doesn’t delve too much into the characters’ lives or worries; instead, it sticks to the present situation and how the protagonists have to deal with it. The heat generated between these characters was very sinful and erotic also, ensuring that the romance doesn’t take back-seat to the plot of the ghosts. If you’re in the mood for a romantic comedy with a twist, a book that will put a smile on your face, Pesky Paranormals is the story to read.
