Rebel Angels 2: Echoes and Embers revisits the world that was introduced in Rebel Angels 1: Born of the Shadows. This is the second book in the series and is understood better if read in order. It can be read alone.

The year is 1378 and Prince Sariel of the Angelic Order of Grigori has been summoned to judge Rosalind, a possible Nephilim with corrupt morals. Rosalind is Alyssa’s ward and is plagued by memory lapses. The lapses have become so bad and so varied that the villagers think that she may be mad. When Sariel meets Alyssa he is immediately stricken by lust. An angel should not lust as he does for her. Alyssa also finds herself almost uncontrollably attracted to Sariel and she does not know why. What follows is a wonderfully crafted tale of rebirth and understanding.

Rebel Angels 2: Echoes and Embers was fabulous, I have never read anything quite like it and I look forward to the stories yet to be written in this series. Ms. Friberg has penned yet another example of her fertile imagination and writes amazingly believable characters and circumstances. Even though her characters are angels and demons, you can still relate to the hardships and tribulations they have endured to get to where they are. Very well done.
