Candy Hearts #4 – Hearts and Handcuffs

“Tie me up and take me.” When Josh Gerard walks into his bedroom and his wife, Nancy, utters those words, he cannot believe his ears. Not only his ears, but his eyes as well. His wife has restrained herself and is waiting for him. Near the end of a blissful interlude, a car horn lets them know that their kids are home from little league. The next day, Nancy hands Josh an invitation to Members Only, a club run by Doctor X.

Nancy wants nothing but to let go. To let go of all of her worries, burdens and stresses. Now she has the possibility of that opportunity at Members Only. She can only hope that Josh takes her hint and joins the club. Having heard about it from her friend who is a member, it sounds like the perfect place to let go.

After seeing the realities of Members Only, Josh is uneasy with the idea of a BDSM lifestyle but decides that he will do anything to keep his wife happy. After making a number of purchases, including a pair of cherry-red handcuffs, Josh goes home to tell Nancy that he has become a member. Will Josh be able to participate in this lifestyle? Will Nancy get what she wants?

This was a good story about reviving the spark in a marriage. Nancy and Josh were both believable characters who were stuck in a rut and had the courage to get out of it. I was impressed with the descriptions of Members Only and enjoyed the scenes set there. This was a great book that dealt with the fringes of the BDSM community, very tastefully done.
