Hello, Gorgeous!

When Caitlyn James wakes up in a private room in Minneapolis, she cannot believe what has happened. The OSF, Office of Scientific Findings, has turned her into a cybernetic, crime solving, robot-thing. Not asking for their help after being killed, Caitlyn decides that she owes them nothing. Unfortunately, her conscious says otherwise and she agrees to do one job for them. When she’s given the job of killing a 19 year-old hacker, she just can’t do it, so in her own special way, she solves the problem. The Boss is not happy and says that she still owes him and the organization.

In Caitlyn’s way, she tries to help solve the murders of the team that made her. In the process she meets another cybernetic person, Dmitri Novakov, and falls deeply in lust. Too bad he’s the prime suspect. When he whisks her off to his castle, seriously, a castle, she finds out that he and his organization think that she killed the scientists. When another scientist is murdered, Caitlyn is freed to take what she wants from Dmitri. We follow this duo through a few interesting predicaments until the satisfying happily-ever-after.

Hello, Gorgeous! was yet another fabulously quirky book by MaryJanice Davidson. I really hope she continues this storyline for some time. It’s The Bionic Woman meets Cher from Clueless. I love the in-your-face attitude of all of Ms. Davidson’s heroines, she never pens a wimp. Caitlyn is everything I’ve come to expect from one of Ms. Davidson’s characters. The issues that Caitlyn has with her friend and boss’ relationship are funnier than heck! What fun this was!
