Kayla is back on Earth for the holidays. Never imagining that she would consider Vampyr home, she still enjoys shopping in Paris. After returning to their suite stacked with packages, Kayla imagines how Phaeryn will love the lingerie that she bought for the two of them to ‘share’. When Phaeryn wakes, he and Kayla have an amazing interlude that reminds them of their love for each other and brings them to a new level.

Kayla has been unwilling to pierce her nipples and wear Phaeryn’s colors in the shape of nipple rings. Phaeryn can’t believe that he is disappointed that Kayla won’t wear his rings. He thought that he was indifferent to the archaic Vampyryn custom, but he finds that with Kayla, he isn’t. Will Phaeryn get his Christmas present?

This was a romantic interlude in the lives of two established characters. Phaeryn is a very sexy vampire and Kayla is a large woman both in stature and heart. I will be looking forward to more stories from this universe and will be re-reading Kayla and Phaeryn’s story in Night Stalker. It was fun to get a peek into their lives after their original story.
